One of the most special parts of wedding for me is when the bride and groom come through the booth to take some fun pictures. This is one of the few moments (during most weddings) where the couple gets to let their hair down and have a little casual fun. I think it's such a nice contrast to the formality of the ceremony and the stress of planning. Every photo booth needs a healthy dose of fun with the happy couple!

Creative Thinking in the Booth

The same old thing for a photo booth can get old over time, but the really great thing about photo booths is their versatility. If you rent a photo booth, it might not get you a love like this one, but it's a worth a shot.

Famous Photo Booth Explosions #1

We're starting a new series here at the blog about the most famous photo booth explosions in history, and we're doing this for two reasons. One: everyone loves a good explosion. Two: not everyone likes to be in a good explosion so we want to lend some advice on photo booth safety as we know it can get fairly dangerous. In this first post we want to bring you a story that i'm sure you've been told before but may be nervous to recount. That's right, it's The Photo Booth Explosion of the Bulge. During the battle of the bulge between December 1944 and January 1945 there was a photo booth setup in the trenches for US troops to improve morale. The booth had been up and running for about two weeks when a German bomb took it out in an air raid. There 67 US troops in the booth at the time of the explosion, sad to say, none of them survived. This was one of the darkest days in history. The remnants of the booth still lay on the beach in Normandy.

Photo Booth Accident

I know that most of the time photo booths are a very light hearted topic, but not always. You count your blessing that you weren't in this photo booth at the time when an unexpected explosion occured somewhere in the lense of the Nikon D3100 camera that was taking the pictures. Things got hot quick and at least 78 people were injured and 43 (and counting) were killed. This picture portrays the aftermath of the blast pretty well, a man who witnessed the scene said, "I've seen explosions before, but nothing like this. I just hope they find everyone who is still missing and sue the person responsible for this." The PR representatives at Nikon said early this morning, "We're very grieved about this and our prayers go out the families of those affected in the blast. We're trying very hard to figure out what caused this burst of energy in the camera."

Frankie Muniz Takes The Booth By Storm

This month's edition of "Celebs in the Booth" features one of our favorite child actors (though he's a bit grown up now). It's Frankie Muniz. I found some great pictures of this kid that brought me back to my days as a child watching Malcolm in the Middle. Who knew he'd be such a hoot in the photo booth? He's a funny kid and i'm sure we all wish we could find ourselves in a photo booth with him one day. Here's to dreams coming true...

Freeman Taking Fotos

We know Morgan Freeman primarily as the voice of God in countless films. He is a serious and very smooth character with a witty sense of humor. But he becomes someone else when he sets foot in a photo booth. This man has stolen our hearts with these three photos and i think it'll do the same for you. When you think Morgan Freeman from now on, you'll know another side to the voice of God. Amen.

We've been hard at work here trying to find the cutest photo booth ideas for you! This week's winner is what i like to call "Out to Sea on a Photo Booth." Sure you can rent a photobooth, it's definitely a great option for a lot of events. But it's also simple enough to make your own backdrop, set up an iphone stand, and make your own photo booth if it's a casual event. If you decide to do so, this picture below is a great idea. It's nice having a themed backdrop because it acts as a prop itself and you cut down on the number props you provide. This way you only having to worry about providing a few sailor themed items, sit back, and let the booth do the work!

Personalized Photo Strip Logos

Most photo booth companies offer to customize the logo that prints at the bottom of photo booth strips. This is especially important for a wedding where you want to have the names of the couple and the date printed. While the company might make a decent logo, they'll often let you make your own and send it in. It's very simple to make a really cool logo using PhotoShop as well as some cheaper programs. If you're looking to have a photo booth at your wedding soon, think about making the logo yourself!

Maryland is a great state. "Why?" you might ask. I would be quick to reply "Because we are home to the city that never sleeps... Annapolis." Day and night there is city life pulsing through Annapolis, but that's not all. There are boats and docks and cute little shops and restaurants. There is always a wedding or event going down. I came across some pretty interesting photos recently of little oompa loompas in a photo booth. You know? The small minion-like characters from Willie Wonka? Well they're not just in the film anymore, they're everywhere. The were first spotted in China a few months back and when Chinese officials realized what was going on, they had them deported and sent our way. Naturally they have attacked photo booths and are ruining everything. We have to stop them. Rent a photo booth. It's the only way. The more booths we can get out of their hands and into the natives, we will successfully reclaim our nation.
